"Stay Alive My Son " by Victoria Bousis, based on the best-seller of the same name by Pin Yathay is a powerful and heartbreaking journey in the soul of a man forced to abandon his own child to escape the atrocity of the Khmer Rouge during the Pol Pot dictatorship in Cambodia in the second half of the 70's. Within seconds the brain begins to embody that universe entering the apartment of Yathai, now 80 years old, where his journey of atonement and healing begin. The viewer is engulfed in the underworld where the horrors of dictatorship unfold in front of him. Each object brings back the memories of young Yathay up to the poignant farewell to his son, the sense of guilt and, finally, a catharsis in the temple of salvation, when the light heals the wounds and the participant melts in an embrace with the little one. His body of him you can not really tighten but the tears are real!
