Stay Alive My Son

"Stay Alive My Son" - (TU VIVRAS, MON FILS) - is a VR experience which premiered at the 79th Venice Film Festival. I was the Lead Environment artist, lighting and technical artist on the project.

Upon being shown a photograph of a 6- year old boy, now digitally aged to 50 years old, Yathay Pin’s realities collide and his guilt his surfaces for abandoning his son to escape the Khmer Rouge. Taunted by demons, the Player embodying Yathay, plummets into his mental prison, containing locked memories and regrets. As the Player re-experiences Yathay’s journey and family separation, they discover his reason for living: to reclaim all that he lost and to reunite with his son again.
