Environment scene set using modular pieces. I used Megascans mostly for the texturing. I added decals and floating decals for detailing and also vertex painting on a couple of modular pieces for surface break up. I also used World Aligned Textures for the flooring. To the decals I added my own snippet to the Megascan's master material to be able to control the decal's masking. This allowed me to use square decals in any manner blending the edges as I wanted. I have posted the snippet in another post here if anyone is interested in. I tried to use a cinematographic approach to my lighting - "painting" light rather than relying on a simpler approach of just applying the basic setup. This is my preferred method as it can allow for a richer but also a more personal outcome. Finally I used raytracing for the rendering as the intended project was a test bed for how to approach and use rt in ue4. I found that despite its limitations and quirkiness it can produce good results.
